Chapter 2

As the vision faded, the old mans thoughts turned to his past life...what could he influence about his younger self that would make his present better, or give him a longer future?

There was much that he wished he could change; but there were many things that he didn't want to change, as well.

Why not start with something small, he reasoned.  He remembered when he had broken a front tooth at school.  That would be a good place to begin.  He thought about that, and was there/then.  He couldn't take the chance of being visible to his younger self, so he tried speaking to the younger mind from within.  "Don't go on the merry-go-round, today!", he warned.

He withdrew back to the present; and tried to remember if he had ever broken a tooth in school...he remembered breaking one on a cherry pit in a piece of pie; and another while eating jelly beans; but those were much later in life.  Apparently, he had been successful in convincing his younger self not to go on the merry-go-round, where he had broken a front tooth.

As he withdrew from his reverie, he realized that it was getting late; and he would need to return to the dock and get ready to head home.
